The challenge
One of our customers has a long distance logistic loop to transport door panels from Slovakia to Poland.
The solution
Given the travel distance our engineers immediately proposed to go for a foldable solution, which would generate a lot of savings in transport cost and CO2 exhaust in the return transport of empties. Our customer consider the re-use of some existing non-foldable packaging system, but a TCO calculation immediately demonstrated that even with a significant invest in new racks he would save much more money than with the re-use of an old non-foldable design. As a bonus we enabled the customer to reduce his carbon footprint significantly.
The outcome
Our design ticked all the boxes: re-usable, highest density on a mega trailer, optimum part protection, easy handling, and a return ratio for the empties of 3:10.
