The customer was a Northern European medical device company and is one of the world's leading suppliers of ostomy care, continence management, wound care and urology products. The company distributes to hospitals, pharmacies and patients across Europe, Asia and North America, with operations in more than 50 countries and over 16,500 employees worldwide.
CHALLENGE
The company has product storage requirements that can vary from one country to another.
Each national distribution center stocks a different subset of the product catalogue. Storeganizer pocket configurations that work in one country can be entirely wrong for another. With products ranging from small catheter sachets to bulky wound-care kits, off-the-shelf racking forced too many compromises. The pilot was launched in Germany in 2024, establishing the structural design methodology that now travels across markets.
Front and rear rows carry different column counts, deliberately matching picker ergonomics and optimizing SKU volume. This operational thinking is built into every Storeganizer configuration.
RESULT
A scalable solution which started with a pilot in Germany and is now live across Europe and Asia.
Following the German pilot, the program expanded to France, Italy, Spain, Hungary and into Asia including China. Each new site uses the same structural Storeganizer principle with its own bespoke pocket layout. The solution scales precisely because it was never standardized: the methodology travels, the configurations do not.
